| Outline of Research at the Start |
コペンハーゲン学派を代表する言語学者ルイ・イェルムスレウは、ソシュールを祖とする構造言語学を批判的に発展させた理論を構築しており、1960年代から1980年代にかけてのフランス思想にとって重要な参照軸となっていた。その受容には三つの傾向があり、（１）イェルムスレウを構造主義者として解釈し発展させるもの、（２）イェルムスレウを構造主義者として解釈し批判するもの、（３）イェルムスレウを非構造主義者として解釈して新たな思想的源泉とするものがある。本研究では、イェルムスレウ受容が構造主義思想以降の分水嶺であったと考え、その言語論の思想的意義の解明を通じて、20世紀後半のフランス思想を体系的に研究する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study systematically investigated the French thought in the latter half of the 20th century through the linguistic theory of Danish linguist Louis Hjelmslev. The research demonstrated that it is possible to measure the philosophical characteristics of R. Barthes, J. Derrida and G. Deleuze & F. Guattari using Hjelmslev's concept of “catalyse” as a touchstone. This concept relates to the scholarly delineation of what is recognized as language. The study revealed that the watershed of French thought lay in whether to this concept one acknowledged the traditional implicit premises of linguistics and their limitations or recognized an openness to non-linguistic elements.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究課題の成果にしたがえば、20世紀後半のフランス思想は、ポスト・ソシュールの言語学の精緻な読解と、それを前提にした思想的戦略の多様性によって特徴づけることができる。それゆえ、ドゥルーズらの思想は、一概に「ポスト構造主義」として消極的な仕方で整理されるものではなく、一定の問題意識と取り組みを共有するものである。このように、本研究は、20世紀後半フランス思想における言語学の重要性を再提示し、そのもとでドゥルーズらの思想を提示しなおした点に意義がある。
