| Outline of Research at the Start |
豊臣政権の研究の進展の背景には、豊臣秀吉など当該期の主要な大名の発給文書の収集とその分析による居所や動向の解明があげられる。その一方で、政権の実務を担当した奉行らの動向は未だに不明な部分が多いといえよう。
彼らは政権運営の実務担当者だけでなく、大名として自身の知行地を保有し、その支配を担っていた。ところが、領国支配に関しては、これまであまり注目されてこなかった。
よって、いわゆる「五奉行」を務めた石田三成・前田玄以・増田長盛・浅野長政・長束正家に加え、大谷吉継・寺沢広高らを検討対象として、彼らの発給文書を収集するとともに、領国支配の特徴を分析し、豊臣奉行に関する基礎的な研究を進展させる。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we collected documents issued by feudal lords who served as magistrates in the Toyotomi government, such as Yoshitsugu Otani and Hirotaka Terazawa, and analyzed the characteristics of their control over the territory.
Although many of the issued documents have been put into print, we visited historical archives to investigate the originals of unprinted historical materials.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究では、未活字史料やこれまで紹介されていなかった豊臣奉行の発給文書を見出すことができた点に意義がある。
また、大谷吉継に関しては実名や通称の利用に関する新知見を提示するとともに、史料集などに未収録の古文書を新たに見出すことができた点に意義がある。
