| Outline of Research at the Start |
現代のメディア環境でジャーナリズムの実践を正当化している要因として、様々なメディア利用者同士の交渉を通じて形成される「本物らしさ」の感覚＝「真正性」（authenticity）に着目し、真正性が共創される過程を読者・視聴者参加型のジャーナリズム実践を事例に調査する。その上で、真正性が多様で公共的な言論に資するための条件を、民主主義に関する理論的視座から検証する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study shows that "authenticity" is one of the key elements that legitimize media practices in general, including journalism, in contemporary society, and clarifies how this is related to the norm of activating the "voice" in journalism. The paper analyzed the conflicts and possibilities that arise when redefining "journalism" as the practice of activating the "voice" based on an understanding of the two as equal and interactive entities, without making a distinction between professional "senders" such as so-called professional reporters and "receivers" who are often assumed to be passive.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は民主主義社会において公共的な役割が期待されるメディアについて、その不信をどのように乗り越えることが可能であるのかについて考察した。その学術的意義は新聞などの限定的な研究対象を扱い、規範論に徹する傾向のある「ジャーナリズム研究」を、ポピュラー文化における価値尺度やメディア社会の実態と照らし合わせながら問い直すことにあった。その社会的意義は、ジャーナリズムの現場において生じている信頼性という問題について、何が求められているのかを明らかにした点にある。
