| Outline of Research at the Start |
近年、LGBTを含む性的マイノリティに対する関心が高まっている。既存研究の多くは質的調査法を用いており、社会全体における性的マイノリティに対する意識、人口集団としての性的マイノリティの実態や、その生活状況に関する統計は限られている。数少ない量的調査法を用いた研究では、クィア理論など性のあり方を考える上で長く蓄積されてきた知見が軽視されている。本研究ではクィア理論的視点から性的マイノリティに対する社会意識、性的マイノリティ人口の複雑性・多面性、性的マイノリティと階層・不平等に関する計量社会学的分析を行う。本研究は、批判的人種理論を含む批判理論と量的方法論の接合を目指す国際的学術潮流の一部である。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study conducted quantitative sociological analyses of public attitudes toward sexual and gender minorities, the complexity and diversity of sexual and gender minority populations, and the intersections of sexual and gender minority status with social stratification and inequality, using a queer theoretical perspective. In accordance with recent international academic trends, the study also sought to integrate critical theories, including Critical Race Theory, with quantitative methodologies. The findings were shared through academic publications and conference presentations in both Japanese and English, along with outreach activities aimed at communities of sexual and gender minority individuals. Overall, the study demonstrated that combining queer theoretical perspectives with quantitative research methods is an effective approach to investigating issues related to sexual and gender minorities.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究はクィア理論と計量社会学という従来は学術的交流の少なかった理論と方法論を接合し、日本の性的マイノリティをとりまく状況を明らかにする試みである。これまで数量的把握の難しかった日本における性的マイノリティの実態を、批判理論に根ざした理論的枠組みと計量分析を通じて捉え直す点で、理論・方法論の両面において学術的意義がある。また、本研究で得られた知見は性的マイノリティに関する政策形成に寄与することができるという社会的意義がある。
