Outline of Research at the Start

時間反転対称性の破れた超伝導体は長年注目を集めている一方で、時間反転対称性の検出手法は限られており、その多角的な検証はほとんど行われてこなかった。本研究では、一軸歪みを用いて結晶の回転対称性を制御することにより、時間反転対称性の破れに関わる縮退した複数の超伝導秩序変数の検出を試みる。さらに、一軸歪み下での超伝導準粒子励起の精密測定により、それぞれの超伝導秩序変数の対称性を決定する。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

I have elucidated the superconducting state in the Uranium-based superconductor UTe2, kagome superconductor AV3Sb5, and iron-based superconductor FeSe1-xSx by focusing mainly on the superconducting gap symmetry. Specifically, I revealed a chiral superconducting state in UTe2, where point nodes appear away from the high-symmetry directions, an anisotropic s-wave superconducting state with no sign change in AV3Sb5, and a presence of accidental Bogoluibov Fermi surfaces in tetragonal FeSe1-xSx. Furthermore, I found that the superconducting transition temperature of tetragonal FeSe1-xSx changes significantly with an external uniaxial pressure.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

時間反転対称性の破れた超伝導状態は古くから研究されてきた一方で、近年ではトポロジカル超伝導状態の文脈でも注目を集めている。さらに、FeSe1-xSxで提案されているボゴリューボフフェルミ面状態は、これまでの超伝導ギャップ構造の分類を超えた新しいタイプの超伝導状態と考えることができる。UTe2やFeSe1-xSxといった物質で時間反転対称性の破れた超伝導状態を明らかにした本研究は、超伝導状態の基礎的理解を発展させるのみならず、トポロジカル超伝導を用いた量子計算の研究対象を示したという意味でも意義深いものであると考えられる。
