This study aimed to identify the factors that promote or inhibit learning activities in hospital wards, which could be effective for nurses' sustainable implementation of evidence-based practices (EBPs).
We conducted focus-group interviews with healthcare professionals involved in implementing EBPs in the wards. By conducting a content analysis of the axis of the organizational change framework, 45 items were identified across eight categories: sociopolitical context and healthcare policy (e.g., demands from society), style (e.g., a psychologically safe climate), superordinate goals (e.g., nurse managers' vision), strategy (e.g., nurse managers' strategic thinking), skills (e.g., doctors' soft skills－communication skills, creativity, open-mindedness), staff (e.g., professionalism), systems (e.g., a system for the nursing department to support and instruct the EBP-implementing departments/wards), and structure (e.g., a system for flexibly reviewing the allocation of duties).
