Outline of Research at the Start

7研究室は分子解析チーム(林、柚﨑)、回路・行動解析チーム(池谷、久保、三國、米原)、技術開発チーム(根本)の3つに分かれる。分子解析チームはシナプス可塑性のナノスケールの分子機構に主眼を置く一方、新しい分子解析技術を回路・行動解析チームに提供する。神経回路・行動解析チームは、記憶に伴う神経回路の再構成をシナプス可塑性に重点を置き解析していく一方、分子解析チームに対して有用なプローブや操作技術などのアイデアを出す。このように3つのチームがそれぞれの研究を進める一方、国際先導研究の枠組みを活かして、国内拠点および海外拠点と相互交流することによって、新しい技術開発と研究を強力に推進する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2024年度は、長期留学が池谷研究室からマックスプランク研究所の安田先生の研究室に1名希望者(博士後期課程学生)があり、2023年から継続でボルドー大学出身で京都大学の林の研究室に来ている者(ポスドク)と合わせて、2名となった。また、短期派遣として、ボルドー大学のイメージングコースに3名を派遣した。その内訳は池谷研究室、柚崎研究室、米原研究室各1名である。同様にマックスプランク研究所のイメージングコースにも久保研究室、池谷研究室から各1名の2名を派遣した。いずれのコースも講義と研究室配属に参加した。
一方、9月にはマックスプランク研究所の安田先生の主催で第2回リトリートを行い、日本からPIが5名、PIでないスタッフが1名、若手研究者が11名参加した。マックスプランク側の参加者も合わせて20講演、またポスター発表も用意された。若手研究者はシンポジウム後、研究室を訪問し、実習をおこなった。
さらにボルドー大学(最近、ゲッティンゲン大学へ異動)のPIであるValentin Naegerl先生に来日を乞い、参加している7研究室のうち、一部を回っていただいた。それぞれの研究室では、セミナー、PIおよび大学院生、若手スタッフとの交流を行った。
