Outline of Research at the Start

構造材料用途のマグネシウム合金の理論予測設計を行うものである。中でも特に産業界からの期待が大きい生体埋め込み材料、形状記憶材料の設計を行う。予測設計手法として、第一原理計算や第一原理計算を学習したニューラルネットワーク原子間相互作用による高速高精度分子動力学計算、さらには機械学習を用いた合金探索手法を用いる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

分子動力学解析を用いて、AlやMg合金を始めとする合金中の粒界について、応力下における粒界の運動や、塑性変形に対する役割を明らかにした。特に、ファセットを有する双晶境界は、温度上昇に伴って、運動が遅くなる特異な非アレニウス挙動を示すことを発見し、その物理的背景を考察するとともに、現象を首尾良く表現する物理モデルを構築して、それらをまとめて論文を執筆した。また、この非アレニウス挙動が合金元素添加によってどのように影響を受けるかを詳細に解析した。その結果、添加元素濃度を増加させていくと、非アレニウス挙動から、スティックスリップ的なアレニウス挙動に遷移していくことが判明した。これについても、その原因の詳細を原子レベルから明らかにし、それらをまとめて、論文を執筆した。さらには、その運動の途中で、低温・高ひずみ速度では積層欠陥が形成されやすいことを明らかにし、これも論文として発表した。加えて、このファセットを有する双晶境界の転位放出能力が限定されているため、合金化された場合、塑性変形時には、添加合金元素サイトが転位放出サイトとなることなどを明らかにした。また、Mg基合金の医療応用に向けたポリマーコーティングに関するレビュー論文を執筆した。特別研究員はこれらの成果の主に分子動力学解析やデーターの解析を行い、受入研究者はその理論的な背景を考察した。
