Outline of Research at the Start

申請者は活動銀河核円盤内に埋まったコンパクト天体の分布や進化を明らかにするため、研究を遂行している。今年度は、活動銀河核円盤内のコンパクト天体を理解する新しいアプローチとして、近年新しく見つかった突発増光現象に着目する。この突発現象から、コンパクト天体がどのように活動銀河核円盤と相互作用するか理解する手掛かりを得ることを目的として、研究を遂行する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

研究代表者は活動銀河核円盤内に埋まったブラックホールの分布や進化を明らかにすることを目的に研究を遂行している。これまで、これらのブラックホールがどのように合体し、重力波、電磁波観測により制限されるかを調べてきた。昨年度の研究では、衝撃波中の光子が系から逃走し始めるころの放射に着目し、観測量を予測した。一方で本年度の研究では、衝撃波内部から逃走する光子に着目し、そのような放射がどのように観測されるか予測した。その結果、過去に報告されているブラックホール合体イベントと電磁波の対応天体候補を自然に再現できる事が明らかになった。この成果を論文にまとめ、「Astrophysical Journal」に投稿し、受理、出版された。
さらに、活動銀河核円盤内のコンパクト天体を理解する新しいアプローチとして、近年新しく見つかった突発増光現象に着目した研究を行った。この現象がどのようにして起こっているのか現在のところ分かっておらず、その特徴を統一的に説明するモデルは提唱されていない。そのようななか研究代表者らは、コンパクト天体と活動銀河核円盤の衝突により生じるフレアによって、この現象を説明できる可能性を提唱、検証した。このフレアの特徴を理解するため、フレアの光度や温度の時間進化を計算する手法を独自に開発し、これを観測された突発増光現象と比較した。その結果、観測されている現象の特徴を、提唱したモデルによって説明可能であることを示した。これらの結果を論文にまとめ、「Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society」誌に投稿し、受理、出版された。
