Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、技術革命を通じて新しいタイプの下水処理システムを開発し、下水処理のエネルギー自給、炭素排出量の大幅な削減、リン資源の回収を実現することである。このシステムにおける鉄凝集剤で強化された有機物捕獲と嫌気性MBRの組み合わせは、下水システムのエネルギー自給自足と同期リン回収を実現することができる。鉄の導入はまた、メインストリームとサイドストリームの一槽式Anammox脱窒プロセスを強化することができる。同時に、鉄凝集剤の再生プロセスは、鉄循環を実現することができる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2023年度の研究は完了し、一槽式Anammox反応器は、低アンモニア性窒素廃水の処理において、長期運転中に硝化細菌(NOB)が過剰に増殖し、窒素除去効率が低下する問題がありました。この課題に対処するため、間欠曝気、遊離アンモニア、およびバイオオーグメンテーションの3つの方法によるNOBの抑制効果を比較しました。その結果、Anammox菌を添加する基質競争法がNOB菌の抑制に有効であることが示されました。この手法により、窒素除去効率は抑制状態から33%から80%に回復しましたが、NOB微生物量は17%から3%に減少しました。アンモニア性窒素濃度の高い汚泥消化液の処理に副流一槽式Anammox反応器を用い、安定した窒素除去効率(80%以上)と高いAnammox汚泥活性を達成しました。これにより、副流の高活性Anammox汚泥を主流と定期的に交換する戦略が有効であることが示唆されました。
本研究の目的は、低炭素でエネルギーと資源を回収する新しい下水処理システムを開発する。有機物回収と嫌気性MBRを組み合わせることで、エネルギー回収率は従来法に比べて75%と大幅に向上しました。また、鉄循環に基づく持続可能な有機物捕捉法を実現し、理論上の鉄凝集剤使用量を70%大幅に削減しました。さらに、主流と副流の協力脱窒ストラテジーを結合した低炭素一槽式Anammoxプロセスは、高い安定性を達成し、従来法比較してエネルギーと炭素投入量を大幅に削減しました。リン回収に関しては、初期調査では消化汚泥中の藍鉄鉱結晶形で分離・回収されることが確認されましたが、さらなる詳細な調査が必要です。一連の研究成果を通じて、新しい下水処理システムの主要なコアプロセスは技術的な実現可能性の点で検証されましたが、システムの総合評価、特に炭素排出量、経済コスト、環境への影響についてはさらなる分析が必要です。
