Outline of Research at the Start

本研究ではコンパクト連星合体からの重力波の偏極モード探査によって重力理論を強重力場で検証する。一般相対性理論は非線形で動的な理論であるため、非線形効果のより働く強重力場での動的な検証が必要とされている。一般相対性理論から拡張された重力理論はテンソルモードと非テンソルモードの混合を予言する。そこで、拡張重力理論における混合偏極モードの波形モデルによって、現実の拡張重力理論の偏極モード探査を実施する。その際、重力波の生成過程を考慮することによって、偏極モード探査を拡張重力理論に最適化し高感度化する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度はまず、太陽系内の実験の影響を考慮に入れつつ、コンパクト連星の合体から発生する重力波のスカラーモードの検出可能性について議論した。まず、インスパイラル重力波の観測された位相進化から、生成時のスカラーモードによって運ばれるエネルギーはテンソルモードのそれと同程度であると主張した。次に、重力波の一般的な伝播を定式化し、伝播中のエネルギーフラックスは背景が伝播する波の波長に比べてゆっくり変化する限り、ほとんど変わらないことを指摘した。最終的に、地上の重力波望遠鏡によって検出されるスカラー偏極モードの可能な振幅は、すでに太陽系内の重力実験によって厳しく制約されていることを示した。本年度はさらに、スカラー場がリッチスカラーと結合する非最小結合理論に焦点を当てた。この理論によると、中性子星は重力を介した物質との相互作用を通じてスカラー電荷を持つことができる。よって、中性子星とブラックホールからなる連星系から放出される重力波の観測を、中性子星のスカラー電荷の制限に用いることができる。さらに、非最小結合スカラーテンソル理論は二つのテンソル偏極に加えてスカラーモードを生成する。GW200115データを使用して、中性子星のスカラー電荷および非最小結合強度に対する観測制約を与えた。先行研究とは異なり、テンソルとスカラー偏極の混合の波形を利用した。スカラーモードを考慮に入れることで、スカラー電荷はテンソル重力波だけの分析に比べてさらに厳しく制約されることを示した。また、ブランス・ディッケ重力や自発的スカラー化シナリオを含む非最小結合理論で、各理論のモデルパラメータに新たな制限を設けた。本解析は、先行研究における混合偏極モード探査の一般化になっており、研究期間全体を通してコンパクト連星合体からの重力波の偏極モード探査による強重力場検証の一般的な枠組みを構築し実証することができた。
