Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、マダニ体内に残る宿主の血液からDNAを抽出し、遺伝子配列から、吸血源動物を検索、同定する。同時に自動撮影カメラで調査し、調査地点にマダニを運ぶ可能性のある野生動物の生息密度と照合して、マダニの生息に関与する重要な野生動物を特定する。特定した吸血源動物の検出頻度と野生動物の生息密度分布を加味することで、マダニを運んだ動物の分布から高精度なマダニの推定分布図を作成する。
このマダニ推定分布図に登山道、林道、利用者の多い環境と重ね合わせることで、マダニ刺症被害のリスクが相対的に高い地域を地図上で可視化する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2023年度にはマダニおよび自動撮影カメラのデータ収集を完了した。吸血源動物の検出は哺乳類は可能になったものの、鳥類では妥当なプライマーが見つかっていない。また、2回以上吸血する個体が一定の率で見つかることから、リバースラインブロットおよびNGSの併用が妥当であると判明した。さらに、宿主動物から直接マダニを採取する調査を行い、アライグマ、イノシシ、カモシカ、キョン、ノウサギ、ノネズミ類の標本を収集した。初宿主報告となる例も複数見つかっている。分布予測モデルは関東地方としていたが、地方林業試験場および衛生研究所の協力から関東中部または本州全域と拡大する運びとなり、解析を継続している。

Reason

吸血源動物の検出は鳥類宿主に関してやや遅れが見られているが、宿主情報と予測モデルは当初の計画より大きく先進している。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

宿主-マダニ寄生数のデータをもとに宿主-マダニのネットワーク解析を実施して、マダニの吸血源動物推定を行うとともに、吸血源動物のデータとの比較解析を行う。
さらに本州全域を対象にして、野生動物分布と環境因子からマダニ分布予測を行う。
