Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、トポロジカルソリトンをはじめとする場の量子論の非摂動論的効果に着目して、暗黒物質や強いCP 問題などの素粒子物理に おける未解決問題に整合的な解を与えることである。現在までのLHC実験などの実験結果を踏まえると、素粒子標準模型(SM)をいたずらに拡張していくのではなく、最小限の拡張に留めるのが自然である。そのような最小限の拡張をした理論であっても、非摂動論的に見るとトポロジカ ルソリトンに関連した豊富な物理現象を予言する可能性がある。 本研究では、まず拡張模型においてどのような非摂動論的現象が生じうるかを研究する。その後、それらの宇宙論・現象論的応用に向けた研究を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は、いくつかの模型におけるトポロジカルソリトンの性質を調べた。特に、標準模型のニュートリノセクターを拡張することで得られるニュートリノシーソー模型において、電弱ストリングの安定性を調べた。電弱ストリングはヒッグス場と電弱ゲージ場からなる宇宙ひもであるが、ひも上にフェルミオンゼロモードが現れ、このフェルミオンゼロモードの効果で安定になるのではないかという予測がなされていた。しかし、ニュートリノセクターの拡張によりどのようなフェルミオンゼロモードが現れるのかは未だ未解明な部分が多く、我々はそれを系統だてて明らかにした。物性物理におけるトポロジカル不変量を用いることで、系の詳細によらず、見通しよくフェルミオンゼロモードの数を数え上げることに成功した。
