Outline of Research at the Start

オーロラ帯に位置し、地磁気共役点の位置関係にある北極域のアイスランドと南極昭和基地との間で、宇宙空間から極域大気に降下するオーロラ粒子から銀河宇宙線までの幅広いエネルギー範囲の粒子の降り込みと、それによる極域大気の応答を南北同時に観測し、宇宙空間からの高エネルギー粒子降下が地球大気に及ぼす影響の南北共役性を解明することを目的とする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2023年9月9日～18日の間、アイスランドの2観測点（チョルネス、フッサフェル）に3名（門倉（研究代表者）、他大学共同研究者2名）が出張して各種保守作業を実施するとともに、通年の自動観測を継続した。チョルネスでは、3名により、プロトンオーロラスペクトログラフ機器一式の撤収の他、不具合が発生していた無線LAN装置、超高層モニタリングデータ用データロガー、Watec全天カメラ用ビデオサーバー、高速オーロライメージャの修復作業、フラックスゲート磁力計のアライメント調整などを行った。フッサフェルでは、2名により、持ち込んだBe-7大気中濃度測定用サンプラーの設置・観測開始、ナイトビュア型全天ＴＶカメラの撤収、掃天フォトメータの撤収・持ち帰り、リオメータアンテナ修理、イメージングリオメータ被害状況確認、NTPサーバーの再設置、フラックスゲート磁力計のアライメント調整、その他保守作業などを行った。9月13日と16日には、アイスランド大学科学研究所の対応研究者（Gunnlaugur教授）を訪問し情報交換と持帰り輸送物資の委託を行った。チョルネス滞在中の9月12日には、約60km南のKarhollにあるCIAO（China Iceland Joint Arctic Observatory）を訪問し、アイスランド側の関係者に内部を案内してもらい、観測所の状況や今後の予定などについて情報交換を行った。
あらせ衛星との同時観測イベント3夜、昭和基地との同時観測イベント4夜、のデータ取得が出来た。
アイスランド観測についての下記WEBページを整備した他、IUGONETシステムによるデータ公開も進めた：

アイスランドと昭和基地データを用いた論文が3篇、国際学術誌に出版された。

Reason

アイスランドの2観測点に出張して、各種機器の修理・保守作業、観測終了機器の撤収、Be-7大気サンプラーの再設置・運用再開、アイスランド大学の共同研究者との情報交換、中国アイスランド北極観測所の現状の把握、などを計画通り順調に実施出来た。また、他大学の若手研究者に現地の状況を理解して頂き、今後の共同研究の進展についても打ち合わせることが出来た。
国内においては、アイスランド観測についてのWEBページの整備やデータ処理・公開を進めることが出来た他、Be-7観測に関する共同研究や将来の宇宙線観測についての検討なども進めることが出来た。
新規導入する予定のスペクトルリオメータについては、主担当の共同研究者が南極越冬観測から帰国後の次年度に、昭和基地側や海外の他観測点での同様な観測器の稼働状況なども参考にして、改めて具体的な導入計画を策定することとした。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

研究分担者や協力者、その他アイスランド観測に関係する共同研究者との間での協議・打合せを定期的に行い、スペクトルリオメータや全天単色イメージャの新規設置計画や、宇宙線観測装置設置可能性の検討、アイスランドー昭和基地共役点観測データを用いたデータ解析、研究成果創出、及びデータ公開を計画的に推進する。
