Outline of Research at the Start

反強磁性ナノ構造を対象として、テラヘルツ領域における超高速磁気ダイナミクスの制御に実験・理論の両面から挑む。これにより、反強磁性ナノ構造における磁気励起現象の解明とその工学応用へ向けた研究展開が拓かれる。スピン流物理研究の知見と、高品質カイラル反強磁性薄膜の作製技術、および海外共同研究者が有する超高速磁気測定技術を組み合わせることで、反強磁性ナノ構造をテラヘルツで制御する新手法の創出を目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、反強磁性ナノ構造を対象として、その電流誘起高速磁気ダイナミクスの制御に挑むものである。磁気デバイスの飛躍的な高速化(テラヘルツ領域)を実現しうる材料物質として、反強磁性物質が近年注目を集めている。しかし、超高速領域での磁気ダイナミクスについては未解明な部分も多く、テラヘルツで反強磁性体を電気的に制御する手段は確立されていない。本研究の目的は、カイラル反強磁性体において最近見出されたスピン流誘起恒常回転励起に着目し、これを電気的パルスにより精密制御することで、反強磁性ナノ構造の高速磁気構造スイッチングへの道を拓くことである。国内グループが有するスピン流物理研究の知見および高品質反強磁性薄膜の作製技術を、海外共同研究者(ロレーヌ大学)が有する高速磁気測定技術を組み合わせることで、本研究を実施する。
当該年度においては、代表者が仙台にて国際ワークショップを主催し、そこにロレーヌ大学から2名を招待講演者として招聘している。また、代表者がロレーヌ大学へ渡航滞在し、セミナーおよび綿密な研究打合せを実施している。こうした国際共同研究・人材交流を基盤として現在、カイラル反強磁性体薄膜における超高速磁化ダイナミクスを光学的手法により捉えることに成功しており、この成果は応用物理学会学術講演等にて発表済みである。

Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

当初の計画にない、新しい研究進展として、人工的な反強磁性システムである積層反強磁性薄膜(同種の2つの強磁性体薄膜が非磁性薄膜をはさんで反強磁性的に結合したもの)における電流誘起磁化反転ダイナミクスについて、理論・実験成果が得られた。この成果は複数の国内・国際学会で発表され、2023 IEEE International Magnetic Conference - INTERMAG Short Papers, pp. 1-2 (2023)に出版されている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

研究代表者らが引き続きロレーヌ大学に定期的に渡航するとともに、先方から研究者を招聘する人材交流をさらに加速させることで、共同研究をより強力に推進していく。具体的には、山根(研究代表者)が研究総括、数値シミュレーションに基づく実験設計、および実験結果の理論解析を行う。竹内(研究分担者)・好田 (研究分担者)が素子作製から素子の基礎物性評価・スピン輸送特性評価までを行う。磁性材料成膜から加工・熱処理、素子評価までの工程を、東北大学にて行う。現在、ロレーヌ大学にてStephane Mangin氏(海外共同研究者)のサポートのもと検討・実施中の測定実験からのフィードバックに基づき、理論モデルおよび素子試料のさらなる改良に取り組む。
