Outline of Research at the Start

土壌動物は、有機物分解を担う土壌生態系の主要メンバーであるにもかかわらず、研究アプローチの難しさから、その多様性・生態系機能ともに正確な評価ができないままにある。本研究では、植物から土壌に供給される落葉と土壌動物に対し、多角的な“質”や“質の変化”を定量評価することが可能な「形質アプローチ」を用いて、植物群集と土壌動物群集を網羅的に関連づける。それにより、植生情報から土壌動物の多様性地図のみならず生態系機能地図を作成することを目指す。
