Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This project focuses on marginalized woman artists. I did research about their movements and activities of the woman artists who had moved out to oversea as emigrants or painters during wartime from a gender viewpoint. This project consists of three parts: (1) An empirical investigation on woman artists, who experienced a war and a colonial lives (ex: Hasegawa Haruko, Akamatsu Toshiko and Taniguchi Fumie): (2)An analysis of thier network in East Asia area (Korean art exhibition, Taiwanese art exhibition and Manchukuo art exhibition): (3) Contemporary woman artists. An outcome of these studies contributed the research for exhibitions, like "Women In-Between: Asian Women Artists 1984-2012" and ". “Toward the Modernity: Images of Self & Other in East Asian Art Competitions”.
