Research Abstract |
As study abroad opportunities become diversified and more accessible, assessing the learning outcomes of those programs has become a critical issue for international educators. Assessing learning outcomes of students in study abroad programs in North America and Europe is widely practiced; however, Japanese universities still rely on output-based analysis. The current worldwide trend utilizes an e-portfolio system for outcome assessment while allowing students an opportunity for self-reflection. This research project analyzed recent models of learning outcome assessment and actual e-portfolio usage.
