Research Abstract |
We developed a patient-specific simulator for laparoscopic surgery. CT (computed tomography) data of the patient who is scheduled to undergo laparoscopic renal surgery were entered into the simulator. In the simulator the organs were reproduced, thus surgeons could perform the training (sham operation) for the patient. By using this simulator for clinical cases, we confirmed that it reproduced organs correctly and surgeons felt it was useful as a preoperative training technique. In addition, we also developed calculation technique for correct organ movement and haptic device to make surgeons feel delicate sense. They made simulations more real.
