Research Abstract |
If at least one dose-response relation is obtained from each subject, the logistic model can predict a threshold, an allowance (for example, whether a sound is annoying or not from its LAeq,(5min) [dB]), and an optimum speech level. Specifically, it was discussed whether mental fatigue can evaluate quantitatively by measuring temporal-processing abilities of two pulses stimuli that varied in duration (10ms to 80ms) presented in the visual, audible, and tactile modalities. The results show no influence of various fatigue-related risk factors in temporal-processing abilities. On the other hand, various fatigue-related risk factors may affect the mean magnitudes of the measured pressures and the delay transfer functions between the carotid pulse pressure and the ear canal sound pressure in the study population; these factors include systolic blood pressure, salivary amylase activity, and age, sleep duration, postural changes, chronic fatigue, and pulse rate.
