Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Eugene O'Neill had great interest in Marxism since his youth, and criticized the greedy capitalist society in many of his major plays. Other major twentieth-century American playwrights have tackled with the issues regarding the capitalist world as well. In this research project, I aimed to describe how they criticized the system while learning about alternative systems from Marxism, anthropology, and other fields.
