| Research Abstract |
"Sustainable Development", which was proposed in the United Nations in the 1980s, has been established as an important legal concept for global environmental conservation. This concept has played a role in the harmonization between environment and economic development. Meanwhile, that has a versatile character, including economic development, social development and environmental protection.
Based on such a premise, "sustainable development" in international environmental law can be given a status as normative role so as to avoid conflict with not only environmental agreements but other international instruments.
