Research Abstract |
With medical institutions encountering an extremely difficult business environment, more institutions are diversifying into nonmedical-related businesses aiming to achieve synergies through resource sharing and institutional and policy risk dispersion. In addition to illuminate how diversification is currently managed within medical institutions, this study considers the business impact achieved by diversification. Moreover, it analyzes the factors relating to strategy orientation, and clarifies the future strategic direction of medical institutions.
