Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Species diversity of freshwater species, especially pyrenocarpous lichens, was investigated in japan, and the following species were recognized: Verrucaria 16 spp. (including 3 new spp.), Thelidium 6 spp. (including 2 new spp.), Porina spp. (including non-freshwater species), Strigula 5 sp., Agonimia 1 new sp., and Cresporhaphis 1 new sp. (non-freshwater species). Key to the freshwater pyrenocarpous lichens in Japan was presented. The following non-pyrenocarpous lichens from freshwater habitats were recognized as new for Science or for Japan: Thelocarpon 1 sp., Gyalidea 1 new sp., Leptogium 1 sp.
