Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Our final goal was to observe vertically polarlized quasi-monochromatic coherent THz radiation from a synchrotron radiation storage ring. We solved technical problems and published some of the results. They are (1) off-energy injection into non-achromatic lattice, (2) wavy bunch production by chromaticity modulation, (3) betatron oscillation de-coherence by wake-field, and (4) betatron oscillation de-coherence by radiation excitation. However, we did not reach to our goal because we could not keep the coherence for long enough time to get coherent THz radiation.
