Research Abstract |
We have shown suitable results would be given by using LFS scitnillators and MPPC photo-sensors. Those results are expected to have with the next generation PST system. LFS has a high efficiency to convert the gamma rays to the electrons and high light yield of scintillation which has short time pulse to achieve good time resolution. The MPPC sensor has also good time resolution to generate short and rapid output signals. Therefore a combination of above two will make a good unit for the next generation PET system.
