Outline of Final Research Achievements

Fecal samples were corrected from healthy male volunteers with high and low BMI and their compositions of intestinal microbiota were analyzed. The corrected samples were suspended and inoculated to germfree mice to produce HFA mouse groups and body weight and amount of visceral fat were measured.
There were inter-individual differences in the composition of intestinal microbiota, but balance or bacterial group(s) characteristic to each BMI group was not found. Some HFA mouse groups showed significantly different visceral fat accumulation, although the correlations between BMI of inoculated sample donor and visceral fat of HFA mice.
When different HFA mouse groups were fed high fat diet, the effects of high fat diet on visceral fat of some HFA groups were different from those of others. However, correlation between fecal donor BMI and HFA mouse fat accumulation were also not clear.
