Research Abstract

To investigate the establishment of germline-competent rat ES cells, BAC transgenic rats carrying Venus gene and puromycin-resistant gene under the control of rat Nanog gene were generated successfully. Furthermore, we showed that theBAC DNA was inserted into a single endogenous Nanog allele in rat ES cells, suggesting the usefulness of BAC homologous recombination in rat ES cells.
