Research Abstract |
Epigenetic manipulation of fungal gene expression using HDAC and DNA methyltransferase inhibitors indeed seems to be an effective method for accessing natural products obtained from cryptic biosynthetic pathways. We applied the inhibitors to our natural product exploration from fungal cultures. Thus, we have demonstrated that the method is definitely efficient to enhance the fungal secondary metabolite productions and discover novel natural products.
