Research Abstract |
Trees require a long juvenile phase for years to decades before flowering. An efficient method for floral induction is effective in shortening the breeding period in crossbreeding. In the present study, we developed a technique for producing flowering hormone through root system that induced in a cutting by Agrobacterium rhizogenes as a gene transfer vector, and Nicotiana plants were used as model plants. We have succeeded in rapidly inducing flowering without genetic transformation of aerial parts.
