Research Abstract |
In this study, we developed an in vivo imaging of flavivirusencephalitis using a mouse model. We inoculated Japanese encephalitis or Tick-borne encephalitis virus in mice, and compared accumulations of 18F-FDG between dying and surviving mice using positron emission tomography. Dying mice showed reduced levels of 18F-FDG uptakes in a part of brains compared with surviving mice. These results will provide useful information for clinical diagnosis of flavivirus encephalitis.
