Research Abstract

In order to genetically modify Plasmodium vivax to invade into reticulocytes, I constructed artificial P. vivax chromosomes, from which a panel of Plasmodium falciparum erythrocyte ligands will be expressed under P. vivaxmerozoite-stage promoter. I also evaluated a transfection protocol to P. vivax obtained from infected patient in Thai field site.
