Research Abstract	The present study was performed to clarify the relationship between sleep-awake cycle and gastrointestinal motility. We have successfully measured simultaneously gastric contractions, electroencephalogram, eye movement, and muscle tones in 2 freely moving conscious rats for a long time. To date, we do not obtain any significant relationship between gastric contractions and sleep-awake cycle analyzed by the monitors. To further study, we are trying to get data from additional rats.
