This research compared the Japan Self-Defense Forces(JSDF)'s and the U.S. Military's gender policies.
Although the JSDF has always emulated the U.S. military with respect to the inclusion of women, I considered the two notable differences between the two militaries' gender policies: gender integration in education and training as well as sexual violence prevention.
Focusing on women's alliances between inside and outside of the military, this research clarified the important role women's veterans played in bridging the relationships between military women and civilian women in order to promote the U.S. military's gender policies.
