Research Abstract

This study discusses the rise and fall of Japanese art dealer Seisuke Ikeda and Hogitaro Inada during the Meiji and Taisho periods. Detailed examination of their activities helps us understand how Japanese arts and crafts were introduced to and accepted in Europe and North America.
