Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The present study examined how autobiographical memory served three functions in narcissism and depression. Results suggest that depressed or hypersensitivity narcissistic individuals tend to remember autobiographical memories so as to maintain continuity or consistency of self, while oblivious narcissists do not. This study also indicates that highly narcissistic vulnerable individuals remember an ashamed episode adopting a distanced stance not to injure their narcissism.
