Research Abstract |
We have developed novel type electrochemical sensors using zymogens as sensor elements. First, we made electrochemical endotoxin sensors based on the Limulus amebocyte lysate reagent containing zymogens. We successfully developed a cost effective screen-printed sensor chip with practical sensitivity. We also developed a highly sensitive device with a practical structure for stripping voltammetry. Then, we extended this zymogen-based sensing principle into other assays. We successfully detected the apoptosis of HepG2 cells using electrochemical methods. These results contribute not only the development of the sensor engineering but also the clinical safety and biological studies.
