The spherical magnetic materials having high heat generation ability in an AC magnetic field have been studied for new thermal coagulation therapy. The Gd3+ ion substitution into Y3Fe5O12 type garnet ferrite and micronized by beads milling was effective to improve the heat generation ability. Moreover the Y3Fe5O12 microspheres having a 20-32 μm diameter range was prepared by a spray dry method using bead-milled nano-sized particles.
