Research Abstract |
We have succeeded in the generation and characterization of cyclopentenyl cation, which is hitherto unknown last one among the cyclic carbocation families. This methodology utilizes cyclopentenyl-λ^<3>-bromane as the progenitor for cyclopentenyl cation, because of the vastly enhanced nucleofugality of hyperleaving group: λ^<3>-bromanyl group.
