Research Abstract |
Nuclear translocation of hypoxia inducible factor-1a increased in human thrombotic coronary plaques compared with that in non-thrombotic plaques. Hypoxic area in rabbit atherosclerotic plaquescorrelated with balloon catheter induced thrombus size. The results suggest that hypoxia in atherosclerotic plaque contribute to vascular thrombogenicity.
