Research Abstract |
BMP action was known in corticotrope cells as a negative regulator for the expression of an adrenocorticotropin (ACTH) precursor, proopiomelanocortin (POMC). In corticotrope cells, BMP response is upregulated by somatostatin analogs. Thus, somatostatin analogs suppress CRH-induced ACTH production in corticotrope cells.
