| Research Abstract |
We searched for distinctive non-synonymous, and rare tRNA variants in mtDNA. Several rare variants were detected in Japanese schizophrenia samples but not in controls. Furthermore, rare variants were identified in five of eight cases showing increased mtDNA copy number.
