Research Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify the gene for influencing to tooth root form using C57L/J strain mice(LJ mice) and C57BL/6J strain mice(B6 mice). We performed immunohistochemistry(IHC) to analyze the expression patterns of sonic hedgehog(SHH) and GLI-Kruppel family member GLI1(Gli1) in postnatal days 10, 11, 12.
Expression patterns of SHH and Gli1 showed differences in tooth root bifurcation area between LJ mice and B6 mice. It is suggested that SHH signaling pathway is involved to tooth root formation in C57L/J strain mice.
