Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は史上初めて衝突型加速器（コライダー）を用いてニュートリノ研究を行う。世界最大のコライダーである欧州原子核研究機構 CERN の大型ハドロンコライダー LHC を用いることにより、過去の加速器実験より一桁高いTeV領域の高エネルギーフロンティアを開拓し、3世代それぞれのニュートリノの生成・伝搬・相互作用を新しい運動学的レジームで解明する。特に、近年標準理論の公理であるレプトン普遍性を破るような「フレーバーアノマリー」が大きく議論されている中で、本研究は従来のアプローチ（β崩壊）ではなく、ニュートリノ散乱（逆β崩壊）を用いるという画期的な手法を用いて研究を行う。
