Outline of Research at the Start

観測技術の飛躍的な向上によりΛCDM標準模型が確立された。本模型によると宇宙のエネルギー密度の95%が未知の暗黒成分で構成されている。宇宙の暗黒成分は現代物理学の根幹である素粒子標準模型や一般相対性理論で説明できないものであるため、その正体の解明は現代物理学におけるパラダイムシフトを引き起こす可能性がある。本研究では、すばる望遠鏡、2020年代に新たに始まるLSST、Euclid宇宙望遠鏡、Roman宇宙望遠鏡による超大規模撮像銀河サーベイを用いて宇宙構造の進化を精密測定することでΛCDM標準模型を徹底検証するとともにΛCDM標準模型を超えた物理の探索を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度はすばる望遠鏡Hyper Suprime-Cam(HSC)の3年目のデータを用いた解析を論文として発表した。本成果は論文誌Physical Review Dに掲載され、Physics Viewpointに選ばれた。Viewpointに選ばれるのはAmerican Physical Society (APS)が発行する論文誌で計算される論文のうちわずか0.5%である。本成果は世界中から注目され、今年度は国内外で9件の招待講演を行った。
一方で、HSC最終データの解析においては、データ整約ソフトウェアの更新に対応するため、銀河カタログの内部公開が遅れているため、未だ進んでいない。
ただし、HSC最終データの銀河カタログが内部公開されれば直ちに解析に取り組めるよう、機械学習を用いたブレンド画像同定アルゴリズムの開発をポスドクと進め、今まで使用されてきたアルゴリズムに対して圧倒的に良いブレンド画像同定成功率を達成した。この成果は論文として発表予定である。また、2025年度に始まるLSSTサーベイにおいて、ブレンド画像が及ぼす宇宙論パラメータへの影響を精査する研究に着手した。
並行して、バリオンの効果を入れた理論モデルの構築を進め、スニヤエフ・ゼルドビッチ効果で発見された約100個の銀河団周りの重力レンズ信号を測定し、バリオンの効果を入れた理論モデルで解釈する研究を進めた。本研究は来年度中に論文誌に投稿する予定である。
また、LSSTとRomanにおいてHSCの宇宙論解析で用いた数値シミュレーションと機械学習に基づいた理論モデルを使えるようにするため、LSSTとRomanの宇宙論解析ソフトウェアに当該理論モデルを実装する研究を大学院生とともに進めた。
また、大学院生とHSCのデータを用いて修正重力理論を探査する研究と測光的赤方偏移を用いたバリオン音響振動の研究を進めた。

Reason

HSC最終データに基づいた銀河カタログの内部公開が遅れているため、HSC最終データを用いた宇宙論解析に着手できていないが、銀河カタログの内部公開があればすぐにでも解析に取り掛かる準備を行っている。さらに、2025年以降に始まるLSSTサーベイに関連する研究に前倒しして着手したため。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

HSC最終データに基づいた銀河カタログの内部公開後(2024年5月頃を予定)すぐに宇宙論解析に取り掛かる。Euclidの初期データの宇宙論解析が始まる2025年中にHSCの最終結果を出すことを目指す。並行して、ブレンド画像がLSSTにおける宇宙論解析に及ぼす影響やHSCで用いた理論モデルのRoman, LSST, Euclidの宇宙論解析ソフトウェアへの実装など、予定より前倒しして研究を進めることで、全体として遅れがないように研究を推進する。
