Outline of Research at the Start |
重力崩壊型超新星でのr過程元素合成の可能性が急浮上している。だが現状では、星の化学組成や銀河化学進化からの要請に過ぎず、その真偽の行方はベールに包まれている。そこで本研究では、隕石中にわずかに含まれる超新星由来の超微粒子(プレソーラー粒子)を独自のサンプリング技術を用いて抽出し、その個々の多元素同位体組成解読を遂行し、超新星でのr過程元素合成の決定的な証拠を捉えることを目標とする。 本研究は、世界最先端の化学分析技術・環境を有する研究組織と最新の元素合成理論・銀河化学進化論を融合させることから、r過程元素起源天体論争に終止符を打つものであり、宇宙が創生した元素の起源の全貌解明を果たすものである。
