Outline of Research at the Start

スピン流を使った次世代磁気メモリの実用化にあたり課題となっているのがスピン流生成効率の向上である。そこで注目されているのが、原理的にはスピン流よりも大きな角運動量を運搬できる軌道流である。一方で、電流から軌道流を生成する効率や、軌道流が磁化とどのように相互作用するかについて実験的な検証がほとんどなく、その全容は未解明である。そこで本研究は、申請者らが確立した磁気光学効果を応用した光学測定法を利用して軌道流の定量評価を行い、第一原理計算などの理論的考察と合わせて、軌道流を利用した革新的な磁化制御技術の学理を確立する。
