Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では,全球・日本全域スケールの極端な台風と高潮・高波の評価および気候特性との関連の解明を行う.最大クラスの台風および高潮・高波の発達に重要な海面における観測を行い,大気海洋間の運動量・熱輸送量推定式の見直しを行う.これをもとに,全球および領域スケールの大気・海洋・高潮・波浪統合モデルの開発を行う.最後に統合モデルを用いて大規模アンサンブル数値実験を実施し,気候システムが持つ時空間的な構造を明らかにし,全球から湾スケールまでのシームレスな極端な高潮・高波強度の特徴を解明し,高潮・高波の確率情報と可能最大強度を推定する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は以下の3項目について,計画に沿った成果を得た.
項目A 「台風の現地観測」大気海洋境界面における運動量・熱交換のパラメタリゼーション定量化のために詳細な運動量・熱交換過程の観測,漂流ブイによる台風目近傍の観測,最新の衛星データ収集・解析を実施した.項目Bで定量化する大気海洋境界面のパラメタリゼーションのため,高風速をターゲットに大気・海洋観測塔(京都大学海洋観測塔)を用いた集中観測を実施した.既存の設備を最大限生かし,通過する台風の気温・水温,風速,長波短波放射等の大気・海洋間の高精度計測を実施し,運動量・熱フラックス等の詳細データを得た.風付近の波浪,海面水温等の測定が可能な漂流ブイを多数投入し,30m/s以上の高風速のデータの収集を実施した.
項目B 「全球と領域の大気・海洋・高潮・波浪統合モデル開発」
本年度は,運動量・熱交換のパラメタリゼーションの理論再構築を実施した.波浪境界層理論をもとに風速と波浪の方向スペクトルを説明変数として考え,交換量のバルク式について理論的な枠組みを再構築について着手した.
項目C 「極端沿岸ハザード評価」月平均の気候値から台風・高潮・高波の可能最大値を推定する可能最大ハザードモデルを開発した.
