Outline of Research at the Start

スピントロニクスは、強磁性体や反強磁性体、ヘリカル磁性体など、様々な磁気モーメントの配置（磁気秩序）を有する材料を適材適所に用いることで機能性を引き出してきた。しかしながら、デバイス動作のキーとなる磁気秩序は材料の本質的特徴であるため、バルクの磁気秩序を任意に操作することは難しい。そこで本研究課題では、磁性多層膜の磁性層間に働く長距離の交換相互作用に着目し、対称および反対称な層間交換結合を活用することで、ノンコリニア磁気構造を含む多彩な３次元磁気秩序を人工創製することに挑戦する。磁気秩序とスピン流との相関を明らかにし、革新的情報処理技術に資する材料と要素技術の実現を目指す。
