Outline of Research at the Start

我々の生命活動を担う基本単位である細胞は、脂質と呼ばれる水と油に馴染む性質を有する両親媒性の分子により形成される細胞膜で区画化されている。また、微生物においては、外界との間に主として糖質からなる細胞壁を形成し、その形と機能を維持している。本研究では、細胞膜と細胞壁、それぞれの界面で機能を発揮する人工タンパク質分子を設計し、新しいタイプの薬剤を開発することを最終目標とする。
